Well said, Aimee. I, too was appalled at Trump's response to both the DC plane disaster and the LA fires. I am so sorry for your losses.

Thank you for this truly poignant post. My heart breaks for all of the families. As a lifelong skater who has struggled with intense illness, I am comforted by the sensitivity, strength, and solidarity of our skating family; they lead with the truest integrity something this country and world desperately need.

All of this. My heart breaks for the lives lost to this needless tragedy; a tragedy only compounded by Trumps predictable hatefulness. What can one do but keep calling it out, and keep building community? Grateful to see you and your family do both.

Thanks for your willingness to write, for your heart that flows into the words because honesty rather than pretty is your foundation. Not that you can't do pretty. Someone needs to speak when the rest of us get strangled in despair and rage.
